I tought: ok, now… it’s impossible, that’s sure. So lets start working.

Philippe Petit, Man on wire.

On the middle on my wales trip, just returned from swimming trough a storm near the Snowdon.

Having fun with old friends, and some new ones. Making tons of photos (again), some seem good, most are crap (again) or “artistic” (ahem, again). Joking about road signage on gaelic.

Trying to get data roaming working on the new phone. It was a miracle it was delivered before leaving BCN, so obviously Vodafone changing my contract _and_ getting me the right data plan was hoping too much from a telco. Learning the ropes of smartphones (little bit different beasts from my old Siemens A60) with the X10. Cursing the lack of good old nice open wifis.

Thanks god the hotel has a good wifi coverage. Doing like an hour of useful work every day, keeping in touch with some clients.

Last weeks rush and sprinting is over, and my workload is gonna be healthier after going back home. Next stage on my road to who knows where will last until another launch in mid september. Hope to get back on the road at least once before. Hometown (nice to have two), perhaps grandma’s hometown (of course it helps it’s on Mallorca). I don’t need to fly half a world away. Yet :-)

Worst of both worlds. You must know quite well where you step every moment. Think carefully.

A goal without a plan is just a wish.

Attributed sometimes to Saint-Ex.

Note taken, with some caution. Seems mine need some further work as soon as damage control is on place.

Would prefer not to have been given lemons. If someone has a vodka bottle and wanna party, they will be put to good use.

And we go from SNAFU to FUBAR in a wink. Plans go down the drain, and damage control mode is on.

Well, keep calm and…

alpha

Sure I’ll do, Alpha. Perhaps next year at this time, or in a couple of years. And doesn’t matter if still around or already gone. I’ll come back again.

And perhaps this time it will be to the original japanese version. First one I got complete, the one I would love the most to just open and read its pages.

A week

Some things yet to be finished. Most shopping needs to be done. But a week, and counting down.

I think I can allow myself ten seconds of nostagia every ten years or so. Full quota now!

Peter Bogdanovich also decided to change the name of the film. While selecting music for the film, he heard the song It’s Only a Paper Moon (by Billy Rose, Yip Harburg, and Harold Arlen). Seeking advice from his close friend and mentor Orson Welles, Bogdanovich listed Paper Moon as a possible alternative. Welles responded:

— “That title is so good, you shouldn’t even make the picture, you should just release the title!”.

About Paper Moon’s title, as seen on wikipedia.

Names and titles are powerful, some magic still works that way.

Consultant and guru talk is always perfect, perfectly inside the limits of logic. Well, you know what it follows :-P

Distrust who runs before nasty reality enters scene. Should do a “distrust this post” post soon.

Back to Saint-Ex. Good thing (not much of a surprise) is I’m loving it. It doesn’t matter how piercing but humanist his quotes are. His books are a must.

Bad thing is my copy of Vol de Nuit is missing in action. Or I’ve never had one… I’m not sure anymore…

Day has been shitty, week is gonna be worse.

Now:

And I better don’t tell what happened in between. It doesn’t matter where you take it from… it’s where you take it to. Or where it takes you to.

By the way, clues to the original Vonnegut quote (think it’s his) will be much thanked.

Bonus track (my favourite mix):

keep-calm-and-carry-on

You gotta love it, nice history.

Second double on a row, with a migraine topping. Still productive, not much funnier. Let’s do the closing (or die) today.

And half the sleep…

Did it again, a double workday. First at a client’s, later on my own.

What’s the difference between a 14-hour and a double? well, cut all RT communication channels (forgetting the cell away helped), limited email check to every four hours. No multitasking, full focus.

Productive… WIN
Fun… inconclusive, yet.
Sostenible… FAIL (well, I’d survive to a couple more before needing to sleepover the weekend)
